Overview

The Grant Writer serves as a key contributor to the financial sustainability and long-term growth of TPUSA Faith – Tarrant County by researching, drafting, and submitting grant proposals to foundations, faith-based funders, and community organizations. This role ensures that our ministry has access to the financial resources needed to expand outreach, establish church partnerships, develop educational content, and host countywide gatherings. The Grant Writer uses strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and a heart for ministry to help secure funding that fuels the mission of discipleship, civic engagement, and cultural impact in Tarrant County.

This is a volunteer leadership role requiring a 12-month commitment and an individual with professionalism, reliability, and a desire to serve God through behind-the-scenes support.


Purpose of the Role

To identify, write, and manage grant opportunities that expand the financial capacity of TPUSA Faith – Tarrant County, ensuring the ministry remains fully resourced, mission-aligned, and positioned for long-term impact.


Core Responsibilities
  • Research and identify local, regional, national, and faith-based grant opportunities that align with TPUSA Faith’s mission.

  • Prepare, draft, and submit grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents.

  • Maintain a clear and organized grant calendar to track deadlines, requirements, and reporting timelines.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Advancement and Director of Finance to gather financial data, program information, and impact summaries.

  • Ensure all grant proposals represent the mission, theological values, and nonpartisan guidelines of TPUSA Faith.

  • Assist in preparing required follow-up reports for awarded grants.

  • Organize grant documentation, applications, and correspondence in the ministry’s shared drive.

  • Provide monthly updates to leadership regarding active grants, upcoming opportunities, and awarded funds.

  • Support the Advancement Team in developing donor materials or presentations as needed.


Volunteer Commitment & Conduct
  • 5–10 hours per month, depending on grant cycles and deadlines.

  • No compensation is provided; approved ministry-related expenses may be reimbursed.

  • The Grant Writer agrees to:

    • Serve with professionalism, integrity, and diligence.

    • Maintain strict confidentiality with all financial and organizational information.

    • Uphold TPUSA Faith’s theological, ethical, and nonpartisan standards in all written work.

    • Communicate clearly with leadership regarding deadlines and needs.


Qualifications
  • A professing believer in Jesus Christ, active in a local, Bible-believing church.

  • Strong writing, research, and analytical skills.

  • Experience in grant writing, fundraising, nonprofit development, or equivalent preferred.

  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines reliably.

  • Comfortable working with financial information and program descriptions.

  • Organized, self-motivated, and able to work collaboratively with multiple leaders.

  • Familiarity with nonprofit terminology and basic budgeting helpful but not required.

  • Support the Advancement and Finance teams with timely, accurate, and compelling grant submissions.

  • Steward the ministry’s reputation by representing TPUSA Faith clearly and truthfully in all proposals.
