Estimated Commitment: 10–15 hours per month, including relationship cultivation, campaign planning, and donor engagement

Overview

The Director of Advancement  serves as the chief steward of fundraising, donor relations, and partnership development for Faith and Freedom Tarrant County. This role leads the ministry’s efforts to cultivate relationships, raise funds, and build sustainable financial support through grants, donations, and sponsorships. In the initial stages of developing this chapter, the Director of Advancement  will work directly with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and in close partnership with the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and Director of Finance to establish foundational fundraising systems, donor management tools, and long-term development strategies. This role will focus on identifying and cultivating individuals, churches, and corporate sponsors who share Faith and Freedom Tarrant County mission to equip believers and defend biblical truth across the Tarrant County metroplex. This is a volunteer leadership role and is not a Board of Directors position. It requires a 12-month commitment and a heart to steward resources faithfully, pursue relationships with integrity, and ensure that every dollar entrusted to the ministry honors Christ and advances the gospel.

Purpose of the Role

The Director of Advancement  leads the development and execution of Faith and Freedom Tarrant County fundraising, donor engagement, and partnership strategy. This includes cultivating and maintaining donor relationships, managing sponsorship initiatives, developing grant proposals, and overseeing campaigns that fund the ministry’s outreach, events, and leadership development efforts.

This role ensures that the ministry operates with both financial stability and spiritual integrity, advancing a culture of generosity rooted in biblical stewardship.

Core Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all donor and sponsor relations within Faith and Freedom Tarrant County.

  • Implement our existing comprehensive fundraising and stewardship plan and continue to develop future plans in alignment with annual ministry goals.

  • Build and maintain meaningful relationships with donors, churches, and corporate sponsors, ensuring regular communication and recognition.

  • Partner with the Director of Finance to ensure all gifts, sponsorships, and donations are recorded, tracked, and acknowledged with transparency and excellence.

  • Identify and pursue grant opportunities and partnerships consistent with Faith and Freedom Tarrant County's mission and nonprofit standards.

  • Lead the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and donor appreciation events in collaboration with the CEO and COO.

  • Work with the Director of Communications to create donor-facing materials, impact reports, and campaign messaging.

  • Develop a donor database and reporting system to track engagement, giving history, and communication follow-up.

  • Ensure all fundraising efforts adhere to Faith and Freedom Tarrant County Code of Conduct, 501(c)(3) guidelines, and ethical fundraising practices.

  • Participate in monthly leadership meetings and quarterly citywide gatherings as a representative of donor and sponsorship engagement.

Volunteer Commitment & Conduct
  • This is a volunteer position requiring a 12-month commitment to ensure stability, consistency, and relational trust with donors and partners.

  • No salary or financial benefit is provided; reimbursement may be approved for ministry-related expenses (e.g., travel, printing, event materials) as authorized by the County Leadership Team.

  • All members of the Leadership Team commit to:

    • Serve faithfully, humbly, and with integrity, recognizing that fundraising is a ministry of stewardship.

    • Uphold the Faith and Freedom Tarrant County and comply with 501(c)(3) nonprofit standards.

    • Maintain doctrinal and ethical alignment with:

      • The Faith and Freedom Tarrant County

      • The Cambridge Declaration (1996)

      • The Nashville Statement (2017)

      • The Statement on Social Justice and the Gospel (2018)

Qualifications
  • A mature believer in Jesus Christ, active in a local, Bible-believing church.

  • Full affirmation of Faith and Freedom Tarrant County Statement of Faith and referenced confessional standards.

  • Proven experience in fundraising, donor relations, or business development (nonprofit or ministry experience preferred).

  • Exceptional interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build trust quickly and maintain long-term relationships.

  • Strong written and verbal communication; persuasive yet pastoral in approach.

  • Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, with experience managing databases or donor software.

  • Committed to biblical stewardship and excellence in financial transparency.

Leadership Expectations

All volunteer leaders of Faith and Freedom Tarrant County are expected to:

  • Lead with servant-hearted humility and Christlike integrity in all relationships.

  • Work collaboratively with other leaders to strengthen the ministry’s impact and sustainability.

  • Represent Faith and Freedom Tarrant County publicly with professionalism, grace, and a gospel-centered witness.

  • Remember: We are not building a platform — we are building disciples. “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” — 2 Corinthians 9:7 (ESV)

Leadership Covenant

By accepting this role, I affirm that:

  1. I have read and agree with the Faith and Freedom Tarrant County Statement of Faith and referenced confessional statements.

  2. I commit to serve faithfully for a 12-month term with excellence, humility, and full submission to God’s Word.

  3. I understand that this is a voluntary leadership position, representing a ministry calling rather than employment.
