Overview

The Volunteer Coordinator serves as the organizational connector for all TPUSA Faith – Tarrant County volunteers — helping every person who wants to serve find their place within the mission.

This role oversees the volunteer database, manages communication between team leaders and volunteers, and supports onboarding for new team members. The Volunteer Coordinator helps ensure that every volunteer feels seen, equipped, and valued as they serve the Lord through this ministry. This is a volunteer staff role requiring a 12-month commitment and a heart for hospitality, organization, and discipleship.


Purpose of the Role

To recruit, onboard, and care for volunteers across all departments of TPUSA Faith – Tarrant County, ensuring that each person is connected to the right team, trained for their role, and encouraged to serve faithfully. The Volunteer Coordinator builds and maintains healthy systems that help the ministry operate with excellence and unity.


Core Responsibilities
  • Maintain an updated list or database of all active and prospective volunteers.

  • Respond to new volunteer inquiries and guide them through the onboarding process.

  • Coordinate with team leaders (Communications, Events, Prayer, Freedom Advocates, etc.) to assign volunteers based on skills, availability, and ministry needs.

  • Schedule and oversee quarterly Volunteer Orientation Meetings (in-person or virtual).

  • Ensure each volunteer receives the correct role description, handbook, and agreement before serving.

  • Communicate regularly with volunteers about upcoming opportunities, events, and ministry updates.

  • Partner with the Director of Executive Administration to track attendance, engagement, and volunteer feedback.

  • Recognize and celebrate volunteer contributions, birthdays, and service milestones.

  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in volunteer information and records.

  • Model the ministry’s values of humility, excellence, and unity in all interactions.


Volunteer Commitment & Conduct
  • This is a volunteer position requiring a 12-month commitment to ensure stability, organization, and long-term consistency.

  • No salary or financial benefit is provided; reimbursement may be approved for ministry-related expenses (e.g., supplies, printing, record-keeping materials) as authorized by the County Leadership Team.

  • The Volunteer Coordinator agrees to:

    • Serve faithfully, humbly, and with professionalism.

    • Maintain accurate records and timely communication.

    • Protect confidentiality and foster trust.

    • Uphold TPUSA Faith’s Code of Conduct and 501(c)(3) nonpartisan standards.


Qualifications
  • A professing believer in Jesus Christ, active in a local, Bible-believing church

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing systems and communication.

  • Friendly, approachable, and gifted in building relationships.

  • Experience in volunteer coordination, administration, or ministry leadership preferred.

  • Able to communicate clearly and graciously with a variety of people.

  • Passionate about connecting others to meaningful service opportunities.

I will communicate proactively if my capacity changes and will help ensure a smooth, grace-filled transition if my season of service ends early.
