Department/Team: County Leadership / Church Partnerships & Civic Engagement
Reports To: Director of Regional Development and Chief Operations Officer (COO)
Role Type: Volunteer Staff (12-Month Commitment)
Estimated Commitment: 6–10 hours per month, with increased activity during civic or election seasons
Overview
The Civic Engagement Coordinator serves as the strategic bridge between the Church and the civic community—helping believers engage biblically and prayerfully in local government, education, and culture. This role stays actively aware of civic and community events—including school board meetings, city council sessions, and special opportunities hosted by partner organizations (e.g., For Liberty & Justice, The Forge Room, etc.). The Coordinator communicates these opportunities to TPUSA Faith’s Civic Engagement Ministries (CEMs) across Tarrant County, helping churches organize, mobilize, and show up in unity and grace. Beyond information-sharing, the Civic Engagement Coordinator also works to build genuine relationships with school officials, civic leaders, and local representatives, positioning TPUSA Faith – Tarrant County as a trusted ally for prayer, moral support, and community partnership. Over time, this role helps open doors for ministry influence, intercession, and transformation across every level of civic life. This is a volunteer leadership role, requiring a 12-month commitment and a passion to see the Church re-engaged in public life through prayer, wisdom, and action.
Purpose of the Role
To monitor, communicate, and coordinate civic engagement opportunities across Tarrant County while cultivating ongoing relationships with local leaders. The Civic Engagement Coordinator ensures that every Civic Engagement Ministry (CEM) in the county operates in unity, staying connected, equipped, and responsive to what God is doing across schools, cities, and communities. The goal of this role is to see believers become not just aware of local issues—but prayerfully present, spiritually prepared, and relationally connected to the leaders shaping their community.
